After years living in the Boston area, a couple made the move to be closer to their loved ones in Chapel Hill, NC. They found a lovely 1981 ranch-style home in proximity, which needed extensive renovation inside and out. The couple sought a designer who shared their enthusiasm for fine art, to help them update their new home with artistic elegance. As they each did an independent search, they both arrived at the same designer – Sally Williams of Colorful Concepts Interior Design.
The results of the renovation include a kitchen that is more open to the family room, easy flow from dining to living room, updated bathrooms, and fresh finishes and fixtures throughout. Custom window treatments and furnishings provide elegant comfort as well as easy-living and functionality for the couple and their visiting family. A bespoke walnut dining table featuring a quarter-sawn top and burl inlay was designed to complement the couple’s modern flair. Pops of color were delivered in bold, floral draperies and other treatments including the kitchen island counter stools in Emerald Blue.
